Case Study
EM360: 0.12% to 7% conversion in 30 days
0.12% → 7% conversion (B2B data/analytics SaaS, 30 days)
The challenge
EM360 is a B2B SaaS platform serving data and analytics buyers. The funnel: long sales cycle, multi-stakeholder decisions, mid-five-figure annual contract values. The conversion baseline sat at 0.12%. Well below B2B SaaS benchmarks for the data/analytics segment.
The bottleneck was not the offer. It was not the product. It was the homepage hero failing to communicate what EM360 actually did to the buyer who landed on it from paid traffic.
The diagnosis was specific: the hero headline was speaking to a different audience than the paid-traffic acquisition was targeting. Paid traffic was bringing data engineers and analytics leads. The homepage hero was speaking to procurement-side buyers. Mismatch at the first frame.
What I did
A single AI Headline Lab-style intervention scaled into a 30-day engagement.
Phase 1 (Days 1-7): AI Headline generation. 20 headline variants generated against the actual paid-traffic buyer-cohort language. Ranked against The Evidence Stack Layer 4 (audience-language match).
Phase 2 (Days 8-21): Live testing. Top 4 variants A/B/n tested against the control. Winner-calls gated at 99% confidence (The 99 Rule) to avoid scaling a false positive.
Phase 3 (Days 22-30): Compounding wins. Sub-headline rewrite, CTA copy, and trust-stack updates compounded on the headline winner.
The outcome
Conversion rate moved from 0.12% to 7% over the 30-day window. That's a ~58× improvement on the same paid-traffic audience. The lift was structural — the headline-stack now matched what the paid-traffic buyer was looking for.
What this proves
B2B SaaS conversion rates are not constrained by the product or the offer. They're constrained by the audience-translation work at the first frame. When the hero matches the buyer's actual language, conversion compounds.
The 4-to-34 Gap (per The 4-to-34 Gap) describes 4-7% lifts from DIY AI tools vs 28-34% lifts from operator-led AI on ecommerce. The same gap exists on B2B SaaS, but the absolute conversion-rate movement is even larger because the baseline is lower.
